PROJECT STATUS UPDATES

In an effort to ensure long lasting infrastructure and high quality culinary water and sanitary wastewater services, GHID is continually updating aging pipes and facilities and addressing problematic areas within these crucial systems. Our goal is to keep the Water and Wastewater systems in good repair in order to avoid costly emergency repairs when pipes break or collapse. It is our goal to carry out these projects and improvements with minimal disruption to our customers. 18B: 4100 South Waterline Replacement - Bangerter Highway to 5600 West

Contractor: Geneva Rock Products, Inc.

Status: The Contractor is beginning to install the loops on the 16 and 20-inch transmission line in preparation for storm drain laterals to be installed. This work will take place in the middle of the road over the winter.

18C: Meter 80 Piping & Breeze Chemical Feed Project

Consultant: Hansen, Allen & Luce, Inc.

Contractor: Burlington Civil, Inc. (Declared Bankruptcy)

Contractor: Corrio Construction, Inc. (Completion Contractor)

Status: The District, Great American Insurance Company, and Corrio construction, Inc. signed the Tender Agreement in December 2019. The District issued a Notice of Award to Corrio Construction, Inc. on January 2, 2020. The District and Contractor have executed the Agreement and the construction contract is effective as of January 14, 2020. The Contractor has also been issued the Notice to Proceed with a start date of January 21, 2020. Substantial Completion shall occur 90 days after the Notice to Proceed.

18F: Hillsdale WWPS Decommissioning & Gravity Sewer

Consultant: CRS Engineers

Contractor: Lance Excavating, Inc.

Status: The work is substantially complete. All sewer service laterals are connected to the new sewer main and the Hillsdale Lift Station has been torn down. A punch list walkthrough was held on December 23, 2019.

18G: MVC Waterline Betterments

Consultant: Parsons Transportation Group, Inc. and CRS Engineers

Contractor: Mountain View Corridor Constructors (A Kiewitt-Clyde Joint Venture)

Status: Waterline betterments within the 3500 South right-of-way are underway.

18K: Printers Row Waterline Replacement Project

Status: The Contractor’s request for a suspension of work due to weather conditions was approved by the District and went into effect on December 18, 2019. Prior to the work suspension, the Contractor completed the installation of the watermain on 1800 West Street. Service connections and other tie-ins will be done when the 12-inch mainline is installed on Printers Row Street.

19C: 2200 West Waterline Project

19D: PRV Upgrades & Large Meter Replacements

Status: The design is complete. Bidding Documents were distributed to prospective bidders on January 14, 2020. The bid opening is scheduled for February 6, 2020.

19F: 3600 West Waterline Project

19G: Well No 8 Chlorinator Replacement

20A: Redwood Road - 4100 South to 3100 South Water and Sewer Upgrades Project

20B: Rushton Groundwater Treatment Plant

Status: The design-phase engineering services for this project include pre-selection of the filter vessel equipment provider, construction of piping in 3300 South to isolate the 24-inch main to become a feedline, new pipelines at the Well No. 12 site and tie-ins on the finished water pipeline, selection and design of the filter building and piping (including electrical, HVAC and 3D modeling), pre-qualification of general contractors, and bidding assistance.

20C: 2020 Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Status: The Bid Opening was held on December 23, 2019. The District received three responsive bids.

20D: Kent Booster Station Replacement and Tank Purchase Project

Consultant: GHID

Status: This project will purchase the 2 surplus 5 MG tanks from Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, replace the existing pump station, and make other various energy and piping improvements.

District staff released a Request for Proposals on December 4, 2019. Proposals are due January 15, 2020 with an award expected at the February Board meeting.

20E: Pioneer WWPS Replacement

Status: The Request for Proposals to provide design phase engineering services for the Pioneer WWPS Replacement was advertised on December 16, 2019. Proposals were due on January 16, 2020.

20F: Decker Main WWPS Pump Replacement – Phase 2

Consultant: Bowen Collins & Associates, Inc.

Contractor: To be determined

Status: The District has retained the services of Bowen Collins & Associates, Inc. to help with the project design. In 2016, the District replaced two of the four pumps installed during the 2010 renovation of the Decker Main Wastewater Pumping Station. This current project seeks to replace: the remaining two pumps; the two existing 24-inch diameter lower steel discharge sub-headers, riser pipes, fittings, and appurtenances; the existing bubbler level control system in its entirety.

The District desires to design and complete construction in 2020. In order to meet this schedule, the District may have to preorder pumps to account for the long lead time from manufacture to delivery.

20G: Building E Expansion

Status: The Request for Proposals to provide design phase architectural services for the Building E Expansion Project was advertised on January 8, 2020. Proposals are due on January 30. 2020.
